Cecilia Elizabeth Hedrick

Cecilia Haley Hedrick, 65, of Davidson County passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Lexington Medical Center.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington.

Cecilia was born on September 28, 1959, in Davidson County, to Nancy Cecil Haley and the late James Kenneth Haley. She is remembered for her love of the beach and fishing along the coast of North Carolina. One of the places she felt most at peace was by the sea and spent as much time as she could by the water.

Gardening was also love of hers and she found joy in her flower beds, tending to the plants with which she was surrounded. Once her physical health started to wane and hamper her ability to garden, she turned to caring for the birds that visited her yard by feeding and watching them.

Nurturing and care went into her work in her garden and birds almost as much as it did into her family.

She was the primary caretaker for her mother, Nancy, and devoted her time, effort, and love to keeping her well supported and looked after. Although she relished her alone time and kept her peace close to her heart, she adored her family.

Along with her father, she is preceded in death by her brothers, James “Bo” Haley and Michael Widener, and sister, Kim Haley.

Left to carry on her light are her son, Jim Hedrick (Charlotte), of Lexington; mother, Nancy Haley, of Lexington; grandchildren, Madilyn, Bella, and Claire; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
