Cedric Verdell Causey, 86, of Moore Drive went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, November 8, 2008 at High Point Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday November 12, 2008 at Coggins Memorial Baptist Church, in Lexington, where he attended, with Rev. Lewis Johns officiating.
Mr. Causey was born October 19, 1922 in Horry County South Carolina, to Charles Bishop Causey and Fleetie McKenzie Causey. Mr. Causey was a WWII veteran and a member of the VFW Post #3074. He was employed and retired after 32 yrs of service at Dixie Furniture.
Surviving are his wife Mavis Elliott Causey of the home; two sons, Jerry Causey and wife, Linda, of Charlotte, and Jeffery Causey of Lexington; two daughters, Linda Ribelin, and Jeanne Dyer and husband, Bobby, both of Thomasville; four brothers: Ruford Causey and wife Naomi, and Felton Causey, both of Thomasville, Edsel Causey and wife, Jane, and John Causey of South Carolina. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm Tuesday November 11, 2008 at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel and at other time at the home on Moore Drive.
