Chad Bobby Kirkendall, 40, of Sawgrass Lane, passed away Sunday morning at Hinkle Hospice House, after a courageous battle with cancer.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 27, at First Baptist Church, where he was a member, by the Revs. Dr. Ray Howell III, Tommy Wilson and Randy Foster. A private burial will be at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of his sister on W. 2nd Avenue, Lexington.
Chad was born November 17, 1973, in Shelby, to Bobby Leon Kirkendall and Becky Abernathy Kirkendall. He was a 1992 graduate of Lexington Senior High School; 1996 graduate of University of North Carolina at Chapel earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He was the President of Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity. He was owner of Kirk’s Carpet Cleaning and Restoration. Chad was an avid outdoorsman being a member of Duck’s Unlimited, he was also a board member of Pastor’s Pantry; and attended Tyro Methodist Church. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Sink Kirkendall.
Surviving are his loving wife of 7 years, Holly Sink Kirkendall of the home; daughters, Kate Elizabeth and Ella Grace Kirkendall of the home; his mother of Lexington; sister, Kristi Kirkendall Thornhill and husband Dave of Lexington; nephew, Luke; nieces, Lily, Mary Evann and Sarah; aunts and uncles, Jerry and Joann Rowan of Ocala, Fl.; mother and father-in-law, Ken and Lisa Myers; sister-in-law, Heather Kimbrell; brother-in-law, Michael Kimbrell; special family members, Donna Azzolini and Dr. Victor Farrah.
