Winston Salem, NC – Chadwick "Chad" Taylor Essick passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the age of 33. Born on Thursday, August 15, 1991, in Winston Salem, NC, Chadwick's life, although brief, was filled with immense love and passion.
Chad was a dedicated and loving father to his children McKenzie, Braxton, and Kyndall Essick, whom he shared with their mother, Nicole Brown, as well as his daughter Peyton Sobol. Chad was self-employed entrepreneur.
Chad had a lifelong love for music, playing in the high school band, often seen with a guitar in hand, strumming melodies that reflected his big heart and generous spirit. Music was not just a hobby for Chad but a way in which he connected with those around him. He was cherished by many as a devoted friend, including Anthony and Corey, who stood by him through thick and thin.
Chad is survived by his father, Joel Essick, and stepmother, Carol Essick. He was a caring brother to Zachary Essick, providing both laughter and companionship through thick and thin.
Chad was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Susan Essick, whom he held dear in his heart throughout his life.
A graveside service honoring Chad's life will be held Saturday March 8th, 2025, at 12:00, at Friedberg Moravian Church 2178 Friedberg Church Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27127. Arrangements have been thoughtfully provided by Davidson Funeral Home. In accordance with Chad's family's wishes, the service will be an intimate gathering for those closest to him.
Chadwick Taylor Essick will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His energy, kindness, and musical talent will be remembered fondly by family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
