Charlene Flynn Flowers

Willie Charlene Flynn Flowers, 76, of Davidson County, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 23, 2026.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington.

A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, in the funeral home chapel.

Burial will conclude services at First Baptist of Welcome.

Charlene was born on January 2, 1950, in Iredell County, to the late Charlie Denson Flynn and Willie Mae Felker Flynn. She worked for Stoner Thomas School, until her retirement, as a bus driver, and was given great joy by the children she was with each day.

Her sweet, lively spirit brought joy and laughter to those around her, and her kindness radiated throughout her actions. Charlene’s generosity went beyond those she knew, as she would always be the first to lend a hand to those in need.

Charlene appreciated life and lived with purpose. Her family was paramount and she remained devoted to them as a wife, mother, and grandmother.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Ray Flowers; stepfather, Frank Noah Yarbrough; son in law, Paul Mash; and stepsister, Carole Thomas.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Susan Mash, of Lexington, and Amy Flowers-Harris (Chris), of Wilmington; brother, Charles Flynn; grandchildren, Abby Harris and Jordan Mash, and best friend of over 60 years, Ada Lara.
