Charlene Isabel Perrell Welch, 80, of Thomas Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Hebron United Church of Christ, where she was a member, by the Rev. Bill Smith. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Welch was born to Rufus Paul Franklin Perrell and Anna Sue Sink Perrell on May 21, 1926, in Davidson County. She was a homemaker and a loving wife and mother. She was in the women's fellowship at her church. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
She is survived by her husband, Noah Luther Welch; three sons, Sam Welch and his wife, Pat, of Arcadia, Mike Welch and his wife, Kathy, of King and Andy Welch of the home; three daughters, Kay Cole and her husband, Max, of Wallburg, Pam Starbuck and her husband, Joe, of Advance and Cara Welch of Pinebluff; six grandchildren, Stacy Payne and his wife, Wendy, of Midway, Jamie Welch and his wife, Jaimee, of Hallsboro, Justin Starbuck of Charlotte, Melissa Leonard and her husband, Johnny, of Reeds, Amy Welch of Arcadia and Candace Spillman of Winston-Salem; three great-grandchildren, Marley and Josie Welch of Hallsboro and Tyler Payne of Midway; five brothers; and two sisters.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel.
