Charles Thomas Bailey Sr., 87, of Robinhood Road, died Thursday, September 20, 2012, at his home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, September 24, 2012, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robin Keating officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by the VFW Post 3074. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 23, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Bailey was born May 8, 1925, in Davidson County to John T. Bailey and Mabel Weaver Bailey. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the National Guard. Later he retired from Coble Dairy. He was a member of VFW Post 3074. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Dorsett Bailey, who died in 2005.
Surviving are son, Charles Thomas Bailey Jr.; grandchildren, Scott Bailey of Winston-Salem and Dawn Bailey Young of Jacksonville, Fl; great-grandchildren, Sierra Young and Bentley Bailey; two sisters, Ruth Bailey Fritts of Lexington, and Betty Carol Bailey Phillips of Greensboro.
