Charles Wayne Campbell

November 21, 1944 — June 15, 2024

Charles Wayne Campbell, 79, of Davidson County, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Abbots Creek Center.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 3:00 PM, at Linwood United Methodist Church, with Rev. Cindy Ramirez officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the church, prior to the service.

A graveside committal will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery.

Wayne was born on November 21, 1944, in Smyth County, VA, to the late Lewis Warren Campbell and Emily Virginia St. John Campbell. He owned and operated Simco Sand Blasting for many years and was a member of Linwood United Methodist Church.

Wayne loved to fish, especially at Topsail Beach and enjoyed going every year. He is remembered as a deeply devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and his family were the most important people in his life. Wayne adored his grandchildren and invested time and love into each one. He leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered and cherished.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Michael Hedrick, and grandson-in-law, Caleb Elder.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Rosemary Campbell, of the home; daughters Jodie Gobble (Greg) of Lexington, and Leiann Rogers (Eric) of Lexington; three grandchildren, Danielle Felske, Lauren Gobble-Elder, and Devan Rogers; and two great grandchildren, Addison Felske, and Easton Felske.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Linwood United Methodist Church, 4700 Old Linwood Rd. Linwood, NC 27299.
