Charles Clarence Smith

Charles (Chuck) Clarence Smith, 86 of Mount Olivet Church Road, passed away Monday, November 29, 2010 at Hinkle Hospice House. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, December 3, 2010 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel with Pastors Michael Gates and Albert Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park with military graveside rites. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Charles was born April 1, 1924 to Hugh Washington Smith and Lillian Jones Smith. He was a retired Truck driver with Los Angeles County, California. He served in the United States Marine Corps for eight years during WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son; Charles C. Smith Jr., his brothers; Wayne Smith, Bert Smith, his sisters; Lilly, Alice, Nellie, Ella. Surviving are his wife of 63 years Olive Cunningham Smith of the home, his daughter Kathy Scherer and husband John of Midway. his grandchildren; Amy Loyd, Johnathan Scherer, his great-grandchildren; Ashley Loyd, Allison Loyd, Amber Loyd. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is serving the family.
