Charles Don Kepley

Charles Don Kepley, 57, of Stratford Road, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at his home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Second Reformed United Church of Christ, where he was a member, by the Rev. Dr. Joe Coltrane. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home. Mr. Kepley was born on Sept. 26, 1953, in Mecklenburg County to James Donald Kepley and Hidia Amy Goins Kepley. He was a service technician at Energy United, owner of C and C Racing Souvenirs, promoter of the North-South Shootout and also coached several local softball teams. He was preceded in death by his father. Surviving are his son, Chad Kepley of the home; his mother of Lexington; a sister, Lisa Sizemore and husband Joel of Winston-Salem; two special nieces, Madison and Abigail; and special friends, Sherry Steed and daughter Haley.
