Charles "Doug" Douglas Hinson Sr.

Charles Douglas “Doug” Hinson Sr., 84, of Park Street, died Friday, July 06, 2012, at his home. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2012, at First Baptist Church Chapel, where he was a member with the Rev. Tommy Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church parlor and other times at the home of his daughter on Sawgrass Lane in Lexington. Mr. Hinson was born January 10, 1928, in Davidson County, to Raymond Hinson and Bertha Davis Hinson. After serving in the U.S. Air Force he began a career as owner/operator of Doug Hinson Service Company. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Elzavan Hinson and Warren Hinson. Surviving are his loving wife of 64 years, Howard Mae Michael Hinson of the home; son, Doug Hinson and wife Joan of Ocracoke; daughter, Monette Frye and husband Marc of Lexington; grandchildren, Chad and Charlie Frye of Durham; sisters, Doris Gray of Wallburg and Margaret Brown of Lexington. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 436, Lexington, NC 27293; or Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292. The family would like to thank Kaye Roberts and the staff of Hospice for the special care given to Doug during this time of illness.
