Charles Coley Fortner

Charles Coley Fortner, 81, of Pine Ridge Care & Rehabilitation passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 5 pm Friday, July 8, 2016, at Freedom Baptist Church with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. The family will receive friends after the service and other times at 605 Peeler Street, Lexington. Mr. Fortner was born April 2, 1935, in Stanly County, to Carl David Fortner and Irene Christo Fortner Stevens. He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church and worked in the furniture industry. Preceding him in death was his wife, Dorothy Rae Louya Fortner. Surviving is a son, David Fortner (Gwen); two daughters, Cindy Everhart (Doug) of Linwood, Mary Sue Fortner of Lexington; eight grandchildren, Effie Morris, Tamara House, James House, Christian Fortner, Valerie House, Charles Nathan Fortner, Carol Fortner, Damon House, Sr.; seven great grandchildren, Charles Milam, Jagger Milam, Serenity Fortner, Issac Young, Hailey, Damon Jr., and Savannah House; a brother, Howard Fortner of Lexington and a sister, Laura Jo Hatley of Albemarle.
