Charles Tony Grant

Charles Tony Grant, 77, of Brooks Road, died Monday, September 7, 2015, at Hospice of Asheboro. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 10, 2015, at Forest Hill Memorial Park with the Dr. Ron L. Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow. The family will have a gathering of friends at the home of Michael and Veronica Grant starting at 1 p.m. Thursday in Asheboro. Mr. Grant was born November 13, 1937, in Newberry County, SC, to Charles Heyword Grant and Mary Elizabeth Jones Grant. He was of the Baptist faith and had served in the U.S. Air Force. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Freeman Grant; and granddaughter, Stephanie Grant. Surviving are sons, Michael Grant and wife Veronica of Asheboro, Charles “Buddy” Grant and wife Salvacion “Marie” of Swansboro; stepson, Donald Perrell and wife Shelia of Lexington; stepdaughter, Sandra Cockerham of Loris, SC; grandson, Allen Grant of Swansboro; one great-grandchild, Alex Wolfgang Grant; sister, Sandra Shealy and husband Frank of Irmo, SC.; longtime companion, Naida White and her great-granddaughter Hayden who meant so much to Mr. Grant.
