Charles Harrison

September 17, 1941 — February 18, 2007

Charles Wayne Harrison, 65, of Richard Road, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, at High Point Regional Medical Center. The funeral will be at noon Wednesday at Holloways Baptist Church, where he was a member, by the Revs. Craig Barnhill and Wayne Littleton. Burial will be in National Cemetery in Salisbury with military honors by Rowan County Veterans Council. Mr. Harrison was born Sept. 17, 1941, to Wade D. Harrison and Ethel Hedrick Harrison. He was a retired dispatcher for the electrical department of the City of Lexington and served in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by three brothers, William Harrison, Thomas Harrison and Richard Harrison, and one sister, Olivia Pinyan. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Cooper Harrison of the home; one stepson, Eddie Cooper of Clemmons; four stepgrandchildren, Monica Walser, Jennifer Cooper, John Lanford and Patsy Lanford; one stepgreat-grandchild, Maia Cooper; three brothers, Wilbur Harrison and Jimmy Harrison, both of Lexington, and Wade D. Harrison Jr. of Statesville; and two sisters, Geraldine Harrison and Martha Hill, both of Lexington. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to noon prior to the service at the church and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Holloways Baptist Church, 131 Briggs Road, Lexington, NC 27292.
