Charles Johnson

Mr. Charles David Johnson, 84, of Shiptontown Road, died Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at his home.

 A celebration of life will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Bethany Church of Lexington, with Dr. Chuck Hutchins officiating. Inurnment will take place in the church cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was born on August 13, 1941, in Randolph County, to the late David Addison Johnson, Jr. and Elizabeth Meade Croker Johnson.

Mr. Johnson was a longtime member of Bethany Church. He was an avid hunter, stemming from his childhood when he hunted with his uncles and his grandfather. His love for hunting later translated into his livelihood when he ran quail shooting preserves. Mr. Johnson was also an accomplished amateur photographer and won many awards for his works.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Warner Johnson; and his sister, Linda Faye Johnson Skeen.

Survivors include his two children, Britt Johnson and Carmen Johnson.
