Charles Lucas

Charles Edwin Lucas, 89, of Kentwood Lane, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017.   The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 1, at Sheets Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Frankie Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.   Mr. Lucas was born September 4, 1927, in Montgomery County to John Lucas and Ruth Shuping Lucas. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a Box Site attendant for Davidson County and attended Sheets Memorial Baptist Church. He had always worked in a management position including former manager with Lampart Furniture Industries.   Surviving are his loving wife of 65 years Joyce Hill Lucas of the home; daughter, Ava Joyce Michael (Richard L) of Little River, SC; granddaughter, Jennifer Tucker; and brother, Jones Lucas (Emily) of Camden, SC.   Memorials may be made to Sheets Memorial Baptist Church, 210 Cotton Grove Road, Lexington, NC 27292.
