Charles Wayne Peacock, 69, of NC Highway 8, died Thursday, March 10, 2016, at his home. The funeral will be 4 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Mountain View Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Revs. Tim Miller, Tommy Floyd and Steve Hedgecock officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. and other times at the home. Mr. Peacock was born June 27, 1946, in Davidson County, to Samuel Peacock and Alice Hedrick Peacock. He was retired from Leggett and Platt where he had been a Die Setter. He was a head usher for several years at his church. Mr. Peacock served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Grady Peacock; and a sister, Bessie Peacock. Surviving are his wife, Carol Ann Floyd Peacock of the home; son, Samuel Lewis Peacock of Lexington; daughter, Melissa Peacock Clark of Lexington; grandchildren, Jordan Clark, Jayce Clark, and Hannah Peacock; brothers, Johnny Peacock and wife Mary Ellen of Lexington and Athel Peacock and wife Anita of New Palestine, In.; and sister, Mary Louise Peacock of Lexington.
