Charles Powers

Charles Bruce Powers, age 76, passed away Thursday morning at his home in Denton.   A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Steven Nance officiating.   The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm prior to the service.   Charles was born on August 24, 1941 in Cabarrus County to Charlie Artie Thomas Powers and Ellen McAbee Powers. He was a retired Truck Driver and a member of Salem Fellowship Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Artie Thomas Powers; and his sister, Peggy Sue Powers.   Charles is survived by his loving wife, Robin Holton Powers of the home; his mother, Ellen McAbee Powers; two sons, Roy Lowder (Gayle) of Trinity, and Andrew Powers and Fiancée, Renae Justice of Lexington; two daughters, Lori Powers Rhodes of Lexington, and Angie powers Blackburn (Bobby) of Linwood; his brother, William Berry Powers (Evelyn) of Thomasville; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and his K-9 companions that he loved so dearly.   Memorials may be directed to Salem Fellowship Church at 4367 Salem Church Road Denton, NC 27239
