Beloved husband, brother, uncle and friend Charles Robert “Bob” Redwine of Lexington, North Carolina passed peacefully at High Point Hospital on April 1, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. surrounded by his wife, Sandra loving on him, Pastor Matt reading a devotion and praying over him, and friend Celie singing “Jesus loves Me”.
Charles Robert “Bob” was born in Lexington, North Carolina to James D. Redwine, Jr. and Catherine Davis Redwine. Bob attended Lexington Senior High School and graduated in 1969 before studying Mechanical Engineering at Davidson Community College and Fayetteville Technical College, from which he graduated in 1972. He worked as a manufacturing engineer until he retired in 2023.
Bob is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sandra Elaine “Sandy” Redwine, his sister Jemmietta Hope (Paul Edward) Allred, and brother David Ruffin Redwine, Sr., and nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great-great nephews, as well as his dogs Gretchen, Brady, and Zeke.
He is pre-deceased by his parents James D. Redwine, Jr. and Catherine Davis Redwine, and his many wonderful dogs, including his beloved therapy dog, Champ.
Bob was a long-time member of Paul’s Chapel in Lexington and for the past fifteen years of First Evangelical Lutheran Church (where he and Sandy were married) where he served in the choir and handbells. He also made the photographs for the last pictorial directory.
Bob was a lifelong enthusiast of photography and enjoyed biking, camping, and time with Sandy at Myrtle Beach. For a number of years, Bob rode his bike to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lexington, North Carolina with The Rev. Matthew L. Miller officiating. There will be visitation preceding the service at 1:00 p.m.
