Charles "Rod" Rodney Everhart

March 22, 1950 — April 2, 2021

Charles Rodney (Rod) Everhart, age 71 of Lexington passed away Friday, April 2, 2021 at his home.

The funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Joey Yokeley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Social distancing and masks are required. Mr. Everhart will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Everhart will lie in state at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel, Friday from 4-7 pm for people to pay their respects. The family will receive friends outside.

Mr. Everhart retired from RJR and honorably served his country in The US Army.  He was born March 22, 1950 in Davidson County to Charlie Erastus Everhart and Mary Lee Leonard Everhart. His parents and a son Walter Chad Everhart preceded him in death. Also preceded by his mother in law, Beatrice Whicker.

Surviving are his loving wife, Shirley Hemric Everhart of the home. His sons, Rodney Shane Everhart (Stacie) of Charlotte and Rusty Jason Everhart (Shannon) of Thomasville.  Grandchildren: Andrew, Joshua, Jacob, Taylor, Izaiah, Daniel, Noah, Christian, Ryder and Charlotte. Also surviving are his brothers, Tony Everhart and Kevin Everhart (Shelia) and sisters, Rita Pearson (Lamonds) and Diane Warren (Steve).

Memorials may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project.
