Charles Brantley "C.B." Williams Jr., 85, of Weaver Drive, passed peacefully away Wednesday, April 19, 2006, with his wife of many years and his four children by his side.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, where he was a member, by the Revs. John Ferree and David Cunha. A private burial will be in the columbarium of the church.
Mr. Williams was born June 17, 1920, to Charles Brantley Williams Sr. and Pearl DeLancey Williams. He served as general manager and retired as operations manager of EnergyUnited (REA). He was a Mason in Lexington Memorial Lodge 473, a member of York Rites and Oasis Shrine Temple, a life member of American Legion Post 8, Amvets Post 13, VFW Post 3074 and a veteran of the U.S. Army, World War II, 329th Engineers Combat Group, COB 33rd Timberwolf's Battalion. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Robert and James Williams, and one sister, Peggy Kincaid.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Touchstone Williams of the home; two sons, Roger Brantley Williams Sr. and his wife, Penny Leonard Williams, of Hot Springs, Ark., and Charles Benjamin Williams Sr. and his wife, Teresa New Williams, of Lexington; two daughters, Gloria Williams Melton and her husband, Norman, of Snow Camp and Regina Elliott Williams of Lewes, Del.; 10 grandchildren, Mark A. Melton, Donna Melton Bennett, Melissa W. Tellez, Roger Brantley Williams Jr., Colby Leonard Williams, Michael Robert Williams, Cassandra Brittan Williams, Charles Benjamin Williams Jr., Tracey New and Michael Joyner; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday before the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home.
Arrangements are by Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.
