Charlie Mitchell Benoist

Charlie Mitchell Benoist, 73, of Helmstetler Rd., Lexington died February 11, 2015 at his home after an extended illness. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015 in Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Gaither officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Mr. Benoist was born December 12, 1941 in Richmond County, NC to Jim Luther Benoist and Callie Scott Benoist. He was a retired salesman for Lanier Hardware and a US Army Veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clayton Benoist and a sister, Linda Huggins. Surviving are his wife, Nellie Marie Benoist; two sons, Charles Benoist (Lisa) of Rockingham, Chad Benoist (Katie) of Greensboro; a step-son, George Shutt (Angela) of Lexington; four grandchildren, Charles Benoist, Jr. of Rockingham, Leah Shutt of Lexington, Savannah Benoist and Lillian Benoist both of Greensboro; a great grandchild, Talon Benoist of Rockingham and a brother, Doug Benoist of Rockingham.
