Charlie Kenneth Carrick, 74, of Mountain View Church Road, died Friday, September 27, 2013, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
A memorial service will be 5 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2013, at Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ, with the Revs. Darrell Sluder, John Kroh and Tim Miller officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Mr. Carrick was born November 28, 1938, in Davidson County, to Orlen Carrick and Sadie Bean Carrick. He was owner/operator of Tri-Co Electric Company, which he founded in 1971; founder of Clear Lake Water Ski. He was an avid supporter of water skiing in North Carolina and a member of Water Ski Hall of Fame. Mr. Carrick was a former leader of the Boy Scout troop from New Friendship United Church of Christ; a fan of gospel music and avid race car fan. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Andrea Jill Carrick Smith; and a brother, Jimmy Carrick.
Surviving are his wife, Frances Charline Morgan Carrick; son, Eddie Carrick of Lexington; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, David Carrick and wife Bonnie of Lexington.
