Charlie Clifford Phillips

Charlie Clifford “Cliff” Phillips, 92 , of Friendship Church Rd. died Friday, August 31, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center.

A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Friendship United Methodist Church, where he was a member, conducted by the Rev. David Peeler. Military Honors will be presented by The Davidson County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

Cliff was born in Davidson County September 11, 1925 to the late Lee Roy and Myrtle Shoaf Phillips. A US Army Veteran, he served his country during WWII in the 66 th Infantry Division. He was a retired supervisor with the former Dixie Furniture Company of Lexington. He was preceded in death by an infant son; two grandsons, Jason Phillips and Richard Nash; and five brothers, Hoke Phillips, Arvil Phillips, Lloyd Phillips, Perry Phillips, and Paul Phillips.

Surviving are his wife, Joan Sink Phillips of the home; sons Doug Phillips (Brenda) and Phil Phillips all of Lexington; and daughter, Sheila Robertson (Ken) of Advance. Also surviving are grandchildren Cory Robertson, Jeremy Phillips, and Erin Robertson; great-grandson Barrett Robertson; and sister Wilda Mae Everhart of Lexington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
