Charlie White

February 23, 1941 — July 10, 2024

To the Glory of God, we celebrate the life of Charlie Monroe White, who went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, with Philip White and Pastor Jason Koontz leading the service. Following the service, the family will receive friends.

Charlie Monroe White was born in Surry County, NC, to William Carl White and Sallie Money White. He dedicated his life to many vocations, including a long career in HVAC. However, his heart was truly in his work as a church planter and pastor. He was a cherished member of Westside Baptist Church. Charlie was a proud Veteran of the Army, and a proud member of the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg, even spending time in Germany during the same period as Elvis Presley. Charlie was a man of many talents and passions. He was a gifted cook, an avid gardener, and a prolific songwriter. His love for his church and his family was boundless, and his devotion to the Lord was evident in all he did. He furthered his education by obtaining a master's degree from Liberty University, a testament to his commitment to lifelong learning and faith. In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his brother, Spencer White, and his sister, Mary Robertson.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Phyllis James White; his sons, Charlie White, Jr. (Cristie), and Philip White (Jeannette); his daughter, Rebecca Vicente (Rod); his brothers, Byrd White, Jim White (Ruth), and Winston White (Cathy); and his six grandchildren, Craig (Lisa), Crystal (Matt), Mallory, Sarah, PJ, and Cassandra.

Charlie's legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to inspire those who knew him. Memorials in his honor may be directed to Westside Baptist Church at P.O. Box 742, Lexington, North Carolina 27293.

Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington is honored to be serving the White family during this time. May the Lord's peace and comfort be with all who mourn Charlie's passing.
