Chester David Utt

Chester David Utt, 86, passed away June 6, 2023 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House. David was a faithful member of Good Hope Methodist Church where he shared his love and gift of music serving as adult and youth choir director. Throughout the years, he also served as Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher, and other roles within the church. After 34 years of service with RJ Reynolds, he retired and then started a Country Ruffled Curtain business at Cooks Flea Market.

David was born in Forsyth County on August 7, 1936 to the late Chester Reeves and Mary Estelle Seagle Utt. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Sylvia Thomason Utt, a son, Micah David Utt, Sr., and a brother, Richard Seagle Utt.

Left to cherish his precious memories are his daughter, Sonia Prichard (Jim) of Kernersville; 7 grandchildren, Jennings Prichard, Jimmy Prichard III (Misty), Stephanie Taylor, Jeremy Prichard (Kelly), Christianne Walker (Dwayne), April Bentley (Jay), Micah David Utt, Jr. (Katie); 16 great grandchildren, Caleb, Tori, Ava, Curtis, Cassi, Connor, Ryan, Cameron, Holden, Christian, Lucy, Easton, Rylee Kate, Ethan, Isabelle, Danielle; 1 great-great grandson, Mars; 2 sisters, Linda Sisk and Ernestine Glover of Kernersville.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, June 10 at 2:00 pm at Good Hope Church with Reverend Johnny Lord and Reverend Jim Prichard, Jr. officiating.

Visitation will be held at 12:30 until 1:45 at the church and other times throughout the week at the home.
