Chester "Sonny" Westmoreland Jr.

June 2, 1946 — December 22, 2024

After several years of declining health Chester O. Westmoreland Jr. (Sonny) 78 of Davidson county was called home December 22, 2024 at FMC.

As much as he loved Christmas he will now be celebrating it for eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born in Guilford county to the late Chester O. Westmoreland Sr. and Alma Shields Westmoreland. He was raised in love in the Sandy Ridge community of High Point, NC and was preceded in death by brother Bruce Wayne, sisters, JoAnn Frazier, Kitty McCollum and treasured in-laws Sid and Mary Lou Curry.

He is survived by sisters Shirley Frazier, Maxine Woodruff (Bud) and Teeny Quick all of whom he loved from the bottom of his heart. His loving and devoted wife Lynn of 58 years and his precious children Wendi W. Curry (Charlie) and son Jason. His biggest blessing in life was his grandson Blaine Curry (fiance Maddie) who will forever miss and love his "Pap." and a very special fur friend Mojo.  Whatever sport Blaine was involved in and if he was able, he was there. He dearly loved his nieces and nephews and spending time with them. He spent 42 years with Resco Products of Greensboro, NC  he worked hard his entire life and could fix anything. He attended and was a faithful member and Deacon with Konnoak Baptist Church W-S.

Per his request there will be no formal services however his family will gather at Sandy Ridge Methodist Church directly after a 2 p.m. graveside service for anyone who would like to pay their respects. The graveside service will be conducted by his beloved nephew Dr. Vernon Farrington.

The family would like to thank Dr. David Defeo, Friedburg Family Medicine and the Hospice and Palliative care staff of Forsyth and Davidson counties. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Sandy Ridge Methodist Church 2223 Sandy Ridge Rd High Point, NC 27265, Breakthrough T1D (Formally JDRF), COPD Foundation, Hospice or an organization of your choice. A big thank you to all of his friends and family for all the love, prayers and memories made.
