Chris Briggs

Christopher ‘Chris” Shane Briggs, 52, of Lexington passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

A funeral service will be held 3pm Sunday, July 7 ^th at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington with Rev. Aaron Long officiating the service.  Burial will follow at Paul’s Chapel Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service.

Chris was born in Davidson County on May 30, 1967 to Bruce Wayne Briggs, Sr. and Phyllis Nifong Leonard.  He worked with Wills Garage and Tedder Farm Equipment and was a member of Paul’s Chapel Evangelical and Reformed Church.  He had a passion for soccer and helping kids and loved remodeling old cars.  He was preceded in death by his father, and his stepfather, Pete Leonard.

Surviving are his loving wife, Shannon Wood Briggs, of the home; son, Wyatt Wayne Briggs, of the home; brothers, Wayne Briggs and wife, Cindy and Greg Briggs and wife, Sara, both of Lexington; as well as several special nieces and nephews.
