Christina Tribley

May 26, 1969 — March 12, 2023

Christina (Chrissy) Smith Tribley, 53, of Lexington, made her way into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston Salem after a lengthy battle with a rare brain disorder, Moya-Moya Disease. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by her loving family who cared for her faithfully throughout her illness.

The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, March 15th at Davidson Funeral Home from 6 pm to 8 pm. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 16th at 2 pm in the Chapel of Davidson Funeral Home officiated by Harold Harper. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park immediately following the service.

Chrissy was born in Lexington on May 26, 1969, to Junie Weldon Smith and Reta Sink Smith. Chrissy was a graduate of West Davidson High School, Class of 1987. She married Tom Tribley on February 4, 1995, and through this union they were blessed with one son, Noah Tribley. Christina was known to most as Chrissy, though she held many titles through the course of her life such as wife, mother, daughter, grand-daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend.

Chrissy was passionate about cooking and spent hours making meals and treats for friends and family. She loved teaching others to cook, especially her son and her nieces and nephews. She loved decorating for various holidays, but especially loved Christmas and filling her Christmas tree with ornaments she collected while traveling. From an early age she loved traveling and seeing the world, with Italy, Colorado, and Alaska being counted among her favorite trips.

Chrissy also enjoyed spending summers at White Lake and Thanksgivings at the Outer Banks. She loved sea turtles, sitting patiently for hours watching as babies hatched and navigated their way over the sands towards the NC coastline. Through her siblings she was further blessed with nieces and nephews who lovingly called her Kiki. Each one adored her as she doted on them as if they were her own children. Kiki Days were special days of fun, laughter and all sorts of adventures.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 28 years, Tom Tribley, her son Noah Tribley (Bryce), her parents, her sisters Angie Smith Hutchins (Barry), Karrie Smith Sink (Mark), and brother Bobby Smith (Heather), and her maternal grandmother Verlie Sink. Committed to continue the traditions of Kiki Days are her nieces and nephews: Sierra Hutchins Johnson, (Cameron), Monica Hutchins Kirk (Chris), Morrigan Hively, Sarah Sink, Josh Sink, Lauryn Sink, Mason Smith. She is also survived by a host of loving aunts and uncles: Joyce Grubb (Foy), Laura Hemphill (Rick), Lesia Reudelhuber (George), David Smith (Kim), Alma Smith, CJ Sink (Gina) and many cousins whom she loved beyond measure.

She was blessed with caregivers who assisted with her daily care. The family wishes to extend their eternal gratitude to Louisa James, Hailee Smith, Julia LaPasser, Alyssa LaFontaine and Jimmietta Sadler.
