Christine "Chris" Rigdon Grimes

Christine R. “Chris” Grimes, age 87 of Clairebridge Nursing Home, Statesville formerly of Lexington passed away Monday morning, August 24, 2015 at Clairebridge. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 4:00 pm Thursday, August 27, 2015 in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brock Shanks officiating. Interment of her urn will be private at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Chris was born in Hart County, Kentucky July 18, 1928 to Virgil Arthur and Laura Alice Doyle Rigdon. She and her late husband ran Kings Lane Grocery on Cotton Grove Road and she later owned and operated her beauty shop, Chris’s Hair Designers; and was a member of Lexington Church of Christ She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Henry Gentry of Kentucky and Gilbert Grimes of Lexington; son Jimmy Gentry; sisters, Lorene Smith of Attica, IN, Dale Rigdon of Glasgow, KY; brother, Huston Rogdon of Cave City, KY. Surviving are her daughter, Melissa Garifo (Phillip) of Concord; son, Danny Gentry (Margie) of Lexington; grandson, Patrick Garifo of Concord; step-grandchildren, Scott Phelps and Donna King.
