Christine Harris

Christine Young Harris, age 87 of Woodlawn Drive, Lexington passed away Tuesday (August 16, 2011) at Wake Forest Health, Lexington Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday (August 18, 2011) at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Eddie Pless officiating. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at First Lutheran Church, Harris Family Life Center from 1:00 until 2:00 pm Thursday, prior to the service. Mrs. Harris was born in Davidson County, March 10, 1924 to William Charles Young and Sarah Hedrick Young. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and the women’s circle. She was a graduate of Lexington High School, attended Business School, and was an avid Bridge player. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Donovan “Dutchie” Harris on October 1, 2003 and a son, Charles Young Harris on September 30, 1989. Surviving are; Numerous nieces and nephews and her caregivers, June Miller and Wesley Skinner. Memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church Building Fund, PO box 308, Lexington, NC 27293.
