Christine Louya

Margie Christine Loman Louya, age 70, of Linwood, passed away at Rowan Medical Center on July 20, 2025.

She was born April 25, 1955, in Davidson County, NC to J.C. and Margie Kathleen Shipton Loman, who predeceased her. Christine was also predeceased by her brother, Carl Leon Loman, and brothers-in-law James Hewett, Blake Byerly, and George Miles.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jackie Wayne Louya; sons Wayne Louya (Michelle) and Billy Louya (Angela); sisters Annie Hewett, Margaret Byerly, and Sue Miles; sister-in-law Marta Loman; five grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 24, at 2:00 pm at Freedom Baptist Church, 118 Cornatzer Road in Mocksville with Pastor Justin Barkley officiating. Family will receive friends at the church Wednesday, July 23, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at the church cemetery.

Christine enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with her church family.   Her other interests were re-decorating her home of 42 years, going to yard sales, antique stores and flea markets.

She had a special love for animals, sweet tea and lemons and a tender heart for those in need.  She was a simple lady that had a servant’s heart and will be greatly missed by her family.  She fought a good fight, and she finished her course, and she kept the faith.
