Christine Meador

Christine Belle Meador, age 95 of Genesis Elder Care Salisbury, NC formerly of West 7th Avenue, Lexington passed away Tuesday night at Rowan Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday (December 11, 2009) at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Christine was born in Davie County, August 26, 1914 to Thomas A. Gaither and Crawley Roberta Wilkerson Gaither. She was a retired employee of Dixie Furniture. She was known to many as Mam Maw and loved by everybody, and touched the lives of many people. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George Minter Meador on June 9, 1968, six brothers and three sisters. Surviving are; one daughter, Nora Meador Anderson, of Lexington; two sons, Johnny Clyde Meador of Lexington, Tom Meador and wife Teresa of Pilot Mountain; five grandchildren, Misty Priddy, Marc Anderson, Carla Capps, Alicia Meador and Dana Sander; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 pm Friday at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the home of daughter Nora Anderson, 21 Eastside Drive, Lexington.
