Christopher Carroll Canady

Christopher “Chris” Carroll Canady, 66, of Lexington, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 30, 2025.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Grace Journey Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Gerald Shean officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00p.m.  Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025 at Salisbury National Cemetery with full military honors.

Chris was born on December 28, 1958 in Lexington, NC to the late William Carroll Canady and Peggy Jean Austin Canady. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Wayne Canady.

Chris honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He was a life-long member of Grace Journey Church of God of Prophecy. Chris was a huge fan of NASCAR racing. He loved to spend time outside doing yard work and also enjoyed playing foosball. He looked forward to attending the Lexington BBQ festival every year and loved to collect the tin can souvenirs. He had a special place in his heart for his fur babies, Bandit and Petey. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 17 years, Christy Wright Canady; brother, William “Chuck” Canady; sisters, Carla (Ronnie) Ingold and Darla Sweeny; and best friends from the military, Jeff Nance, Greg Finney, Zach Shipwash and Tony.
