Chris Owens passed away on February 22nd 2026 at Atrium Cabarrus Hospital. With a special thanks to the ICU staff for everything.
Chris was born on March 17th 1987 in Winston to Margaret and Terry Owens. Though Terry may have been his biological father, nobody showed Chris more love and compassion than Glenn “Speedy” Holbrook. He grew up in Davidson county and went on to work in construction, plumbing, and carpentry.
He left behind a legacy of love, strength, and unforgettable memories. He was a devoted father, and an amazing friend to everyone but most of all Barbara “Barb” Welter. A beloved son and brother, and a man whose kindness and presence touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Chris lived his life with heart and resilience. He worked hard, cared deeply, and carried a quiet strength that helped guide his family through both the good times and the difficult ones. He had a genuine spirit and a sense of humor that could brighten a room, and he never hesitated to stand by the people he loved.
Chris had a special talent for building things. Whether it was working with his hands, fixing what was broken, or creating something from the ground up, he took pride in making things strong and lasting—just like the relationships he built with the people around him. His creativity and determination showed in everything he worked on.
Above all else, Chris was a proud father. His greatest joy in life was his children—his oldest son, Tyler, along with Maddix and Chris. He loved them deeply and unconditionally, and the lessons he gave them—about strength, loyalty, and perseverance—will live on through them forever. The bond he shared with his kids was the center of his world, and his love will continue to guide their lives.
Chris also shared a close bond with his six siblings, who were an important part of his life. Through the years, they shared memories, laughter, and support that strengthened their family connection.
Chris will be remembered for his compassion, his dedication to family, and the countless memories he created with those closest to him. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable loss, his life leaves behind something even stronger—a lasting legacy of love that will never fade.
He is survived by his children, his siblings Ashley Cook, Jeremy Owens, Heily Roman, Conley Holbrook, and Jessica Holbrook, and many family members and friends who will continue to honor his life by carrying forward the values and care he shared so freely.
Chris will always and forever be remembered by his special friend Barb and his baby girl Lola.
Chris Owens will never be forgotten. His love lives on in every memory, every lesson, and every heart he touched.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday March 15th at 2:00 p.m. at 253 Wedgewood Dr, Lexington NC 27292.
