Christopher Allen Poole

February 9, 1963 — March 26, 2016

Christopher Allen Poole, 53 of Jerusalem Rd. Lexington passed away Saturday March 26th at Salisbury Veteran’s Medical Center after an extended illness. A Graveside service with Military Honors by Davidson County Honor Guard will be held at the National Cemetery in Salisbury on Thursday March 31st at 11:00 AM with Rev. William Sowers officiating. There will not be a formal visitation scheduled. Mr. Poole was born in Savannah, GA on February 9, 1963 at Hunter Air Force Base to Jerry Roger Poole and Roseita (Rose) Beck Poole. Chris proudly followed his dad into the US Air Force following graduation from Mt Pleasant High School in 1981. He was assigned as an air traffic controller for 10 years until a brain tumor forced an early medical retirement. He enjoyed more years of a lifelong passion of bass fishing and also became an avid reader of Civil War History. He was a member of Hedrick’s Grove Reformed United Church of Christ. One of his greatest joys was to make people laugh and was known for his humor and love for people and family. Surviving in addition to his parents, are twin daughters, Kaye Poole and Karen Poole and sister Susan Medlin (Guy) and nephews Jason and Kevin Medlin and friend and former wife Keely Jiménez all of Lexington. Special appreciation to the Salisbury Veteran Medical Center-based Health Team and the staff in Unit 42-1c who so diligently cared for Chris until his passing. Davidson Funeral Home is serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
