Christopher Shane Wright

October 14, 1997 — January 24, 2020

Christopher Shane Wright, 22, passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 24, 2020.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington with Mike Hillard officiating the service.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Visitation with family and friends will be held Saturday from 12:30 until 1:30 before the service.  The family will receive friends at the home of his grandparents, Jerry and Gina Wright on Cow Palace Road in Lexington.

Born October 14, 1997 to Michael Shane Wright and Kesia Ellis Wright.  Chris was an an avid music lover.  He taught himself to play the guitar, by ear, at an early age.  He never stopped striving to improve his gift.  He was well known with his friends for the songs he wrote.  Chris loved anything if it had to do with outside.  He loved the woods, fishing, mountains and just being with quiet in nature.  His favorite times were sitting around bonfires with family and friends, picking tunes and singing.  Nothing meant more to him than his family, and he never failed to make sure they knew he loved them.  We will cherish one of our last times with Chris spent on Christmas Day throwing the football with his brother, cousins, and uncle.  For us, his voice will forever live on in his songs he left us.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Kesia Ellis Wright, grandparents, Kathy Wright, Bruce and Sandra Ellis, and Aunt Stacey Wright.

He is survived by his parents, Shane Wright and Denise Burton; brother, Brandon Wright; sisters, Kayla Brewer and Delaney Phillips; grandparents, Jerry and Gina Wright and Bill and Kay Burton; aunts and uncles, Jason and Asia Wright, Chris and Rebecca Gage, and Samantha Wright; cousins, Kevin Lafferty, Stone Wright, and Gabe Witherington-Boyett; as well as his most special friend, Goldie Killian, "brother Dallas Griffin" and many close friends.

The family respectfully asked that only people who were an encouragement in his life attend the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to The Compassionate Friends-Loss to Substance Related Cause
