Sgt. Chrystian Darius Shaner, 26, a resident of Colorado Springs, formerly of Lexington, passed away Monday, February 13, 2023. Chrystian was born May 4, 1996 to Calvin Shaner and Felicita Flowers. Chrystian graduated from West Davidson High School in 2014. All his life, Chystian wanted to be in the military. So, in 2016 he proudly joined the United States Army. Chrystian excelled in anything he set his mind to, whether it was on the baseball and wrestling teams growing up or rising through the ranks in his career in the Army. Chrystian was an outgoing person, who had an incredible sense of humor, and enjoyed gaming. His family recalls his ability to be the loudest person in the room. Chrystian was a selfless kindhearted soul who will be missed by all who knew him. A funeral service will be held at 3:00PM Saturday, March 4, 2023 in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 2:00PM. Interment will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 9, 2023 in the Salisbury National Cemetery Columbarium. Left behind to cherish Chrystian’s memory is his wife, Shawnee Shaner and stepdaughter, Anna-Lynne of Colorado Springs; his father, Calvin Shaner of Lexington; his mother, Felicita Flowers; paternal grandfather, Carl Shaner of Pennsylvania; paternal grandmother, Susan Thompson of Thomasville; a brother, Sebastion Shaner of Lexington; a sister, Alexis Shaner; uncles Randy and Danny Shaner; a nephew, Haden Shaner; and nieces.
