Claire Barbour Doss Travis

Claire Barbour Doss Travis, 92, of Mountain View Church Road, died Thursday, February 26, 2015, at her home. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at East End Baptist Church, 377 Heath Church Road, with the Rev. Tim Gainey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery on County Home Road. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the service. Mrs. Travis was born January 13, 1923, in Pittsylvania County, Va., to Flossie Ann Doss Barbour. She was retired from Western Electric, attended the Salvation Army church services, and was a Pioneer at Western Electric. In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her son, James Travis; brothers, Levi Doss and Aubrey Doss; sisters, Verna Brame and Florence Haskins; and granddaughter, Christal Minges Lanyon Travis. Surviving are son, Charles Toler and wife Linda of Lexington; granddaughters, Jamie Potter of New Bern and Elizabeth Toler of Lexington; great-grandchildren, Eddie, Mia, Andy, Cameron, Leah, and Shelby.
