Clara Mize

Clara Story Mize, 87, of Lexington passed away January 7, 2022, at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 13, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Lexington, where she was a member, with the Rev. Dr. Ray Howell, III officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday night at Davidson Funeral Home. Mask will be required for the service.

Clara was born June 25, 1934, in Davidson County, to Coley William Story and Annie Mae Trogdon Story. Clara was a devoted member of the church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for 20 years. She was retired from the Salem Company. Her passions included her love of sewing and being a seamstress, faith, church, family, and especially her grandchildren. Clara was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be missed by all. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Wade Mize who died January 1, 2000, her son, Kimberly Mize; daughter, Belinda Caudle; brother, Odel William Story; sisters, Rebecca Lee Owens, and Doris Mae Forrest.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Danny Mize of Lexington; her brother, Eddie Story and wife Sandra of Lexington; daughter-in-law, Sherry Goble of Lexington; and son-in-law, Tony Caudle of Lexington; five grandchildren, Amanda Forbis, Blake Caudle, Lauren Mize, Clifton Mize and Kalee Mize; and seven great-grandchildren, Alex, Kimberly, Daniel, Logan, Lucas, Madison, and Noah.
