Clarence Wesley Hege, 78, of Friendship Church Road, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Good Hope United Methodist Church by the Rev. Chris Bennett and Dr. Lauren Anderson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of the daughter.
Mr. Hege was born Feb. 25, 1936, in Davidson County to Carl Webster Hege and Lillie Berrier Hege. He was a retired knitting machine fixer for Sara Lee Hosiery in Winston-Salem and a member of Good Hope United Methodist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife Jacqualine "Jackie" Frank Hege; two brothers, Grady Hege, Paul Hege; and sister Treva Walser.
Surviving are son Gary Hege of the home; daughter Brenda Matthews (Dwight) of Lexington; grandson Wesley Matthews; two stepgrandsons, Brian Matthews and Daniel Matthews (Michelle); and stepgreat-grandson Mason Matthews.
