Clarence Reid “Red” Clodfelter, age 92 of Greensboro Street Ext., Lexington passed away Saturday evening after a short illness.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Pilgrim Reformed Church, conducted by Rev. George Fidler, Rev. Rosser Clapp, Rev. Max Shoaf and Rev. Barry Surratt. Burial will follow in the Pilgrim Reformed Church Cemetery.
Mr. Clodfelter was born in Davidson County, November 24, 1915 to Franklin Solomon Clodfelter and Emma Sink Clodfelter. He was retired from Lexington Telephone after 45 years of service, a member of Telephone Pioneers of America, and a member of Pilgrim Reformed Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Hayes Clodfelter who died January 5, 2007, Grandson Boyd Lee Clodfelter, and great-granddaughter Breanna Leigh Clodfelter Sisters; Alma Clodfelter Hill, Blanch Clodfelter Andrews, Brothers; Robert, Druid, Russell and Fred Clodfelter and a daughter in law Rebecca VonCannon Clodfelter.
Surviving are four sons; Donald Reid Clodfelter and Max Ray Clodfelter both of the home, Boyd Hayes Clodfelter and wife Julia and Paul Edward Clodfelter and wife Lynne all of Lexington, six grandchildren; Chris, David, Joseph, Suzanne, Jason and Michael Clodfelter, four great-grandchildren and a sister Anna Clodfelter Morgan of Winston Salem; and a brother Terry Clodfelter and wife Linda of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Monday night at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington and at other times at the home.
