Claude Edward Harmon

Claude Edward Harmon, 96, of Ridge Street in Lexington passed away Friday March 24, 2023 at SECU Hospice Center in Yadkinville.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday March 28, 2023 at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Fletcher and  Rev. Lomax Skinner conducting services. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Monday at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree  Chapel.

Mr. Harmon was born August 28, 1926 in Caldwell County to Jethro Ransome Harmon and Martha Vienna Coffey Harmon. Claude enjoyed wood working, baking, fishing, and was the oldest member of Union Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Edna Lorena Tolbert Harmon, and a brother, Olin Harmon.

Surviving is his daughter, Martha Byrd (Doug), of Yadkinville; 4 grandchildren, Traci Zachary (Richie), Ricky Willard (Katie), Monica Fulton (Jake), and Douglas Byrd (Melissa) and 6 great-grandchildren, Austin Zachary (Brittani), Brody Willard, Jaxon Byrd, Otto Willard, Barrett Byrd and Truett Byrd; step-grandson, Shane Byrd; one brother, Paul Harmon of Lenoir; and one sister, Edna Tolbert of Lenoir.

The family would like to thank CA Hartman for his friendship and dedication to his dear friend.
