Claude Kester Sink, Sr., 84 of Lexington passed away Wednesday July 17, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his family after an illness of 6 weeks. A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Harold Harper officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington and at other times at the home. Mr. Sink was born on December 23, 1928 in Davidson County to Clem W. Sink and Edna Myers Sink. He was founder of Sink’s Garage and Sink Farm Equipment. He was a former lay leader of Shiloh United Methodist Church; he attended Psalm 91 for more than 25 years, until the Lord led him to attend church with his family at True Light Baptist Church where he was a member. He still considered the members of Psalm 91 and Pastor Max to be a part of his Christian family. He was a member of the Lexington Memorial 473 Masonic Lodge and Lexington Shrine Club and was Chairman of the nominating committee for Energy United. He was preceded in death by brothers, Alvin, Lacy, Earl, Luther Voyd and Henry Sink Sr. and sisters, Blanche and Mildred Lanning. Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Verlie Mae Sidden Sink of the home, son Claude (C. J.) Sink, Jr. (Gina) of Lexington, daughters, Alma Smith and Reta Smith (Junie) all of Lexington, grandchildren Chrissy Tribley (Tom), Angie Hutchins (Barry), Karrie Sink (Mark), Bobby Smith (Heather), Julie Smith (T. J.), Amy Gentry (Cliff), Jason Smith and girlfriend Lauren, Meredith and Jacob Sink and great grandchildren, Sierra and Monica Hutchins, Noah Tribley, Sarah, Josh and Lauryn Sink, Morrigan Hivley- Smith and Mason Smith; sisters, Nellie Phillips, Joan Phillips(Cliff) and Mary Alice Berrier (Ellis) all of Lexington and many other special friends and family. Memorials may be directed to True Light Baptist Church, P. O. Box 1825, Lexington, NC 27293 or Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington NC 27292.
