Claudia Wittman Alexander

Claudia Glea Wittman Alexander, 65, of Ridge Road, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, at Lexington Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be held later in Corfu, New York. She was born April 17, 1941, in Genesse County, N.Y., to Claude Willis Wittman and Mattie (Mollie) Rogers Wittman. She was a medical assistant for Dr. Sidney L. McLouth in New York for 27 years. Later, she worked for American Greetings and also for Jackson-Hewitt. She was a member of Corfu United Presbyterian Church and the Corfu Rebekah Lodge 222. Mrs. Alexander moved to Lexington in March 1986 and was a member of the Pilgrim Extension Club and the Thursday morning eye-opening bowling league. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Rodney Wittman, Sherwin Wittman and Orville Goodwin; and a sister, Olvie Goodwin White; and her brother-in-law, Jack F. Alexander. Surviving are her husband, Edward Joseph Alexander, of the home; daughter, Jacqueline Bates and her husband, Don, of Corfu, N.Y.; grandchildren, Shannon Claudia Bates and Alexander John Bates; sister, Julia Hixon of California; brothers-in-laws, Gerald R. White and Robert Alexander and his wife, Geraldine; sister-in-law, Marjorie Goodwin; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Corfu United Presbyterian Church, 63 Allegheny Road, Corfu, N.Y. 14036.
