Claudie Dorsett Rachels

Claudie Mildred Dorsett Rachels, 91, of, Old Salisbury Road, formerly of Arnold Road, died Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Brookstone Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Davidson Funeral Home with Danny Pope and Steve Bietz officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home Saturday, May 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. and other times at the home.  Mrs. Rachels was born August 21, 1925, in Davidson County, to Jesse Lee Dorsett and Lena Sledge Dorsett. She was a member of Lexington Seventh Day Adventist Church and had worked at Lexington Shirt Factory until her retirement. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Wilson Rachels; daughter, Frances Cope; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers; and four sisters.  Surviving are a son, Foyell W. Rachels of Lexington; daughter, Margaret King of Linwood; grandchildren, David Hutchins, Sonya Fletcher, Pam Hollman, Patricia Weaver, Linda Giles, Ricky Powell, Keri Rachels Lopp and Ashlee Rachels Lopp; 12 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren.
