Clayton Lee Nuttall

September 8, 1935 — September 5, 2017

Clayton Lee Nuttall, 81 went into the presence of his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at his home.  A memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Ed Sears, Pastor Frankie Matthews officiating.  Burial will be private. A visitation with family and friends will follow the memorial service. A Muskegon, MI native, Dr. Nuttall was born September 8, 1935 to Clyde J. Nuttall and Mary Porter Nuttall.  He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, a US Navy veteran and held a Doctor of Divinity Degree.  Dr. Nuttall served as President of National Theological College and Graduate School in Lexington.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Vernon Nuttall. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Annette (Schutter) Nuttall of the home; two daughters, Andrea Powell (Rich) of Winston-Salem, Karen Shoaf (Michael) of Crandall, TX; three sons, Dennis Nuttall (Jann) of Larkspur, CO, Mark Nuttall (Robin) of Winston-Salem, Kraig Nuttall (Amy) of Mocksville; four sisters, Betty Austin, Phyllis Nuttall, Alice White and Nancy Schmidt; fifteen grandchildren, Aaron, Andrew, Alex, Justin, Stephen, Ben, Lindsey, Laura-Ashley, Corey, Heather, Anna, Amanda, Alicia, Luke, Marleigh Anna.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the National Theological College and Graduate School, 307 Holt St., Lexington, NC  27292; the mission of which Clay was the President, reaching the lost all over the world. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
