Clayton B. Wingler, 82, of South NC Highway 150, died suddenly at his home, Wednesday, March 4, 2015.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Tyro United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery with military graveside rites by Davidson County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 Saturday, prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Wingler was born May 13, 1932, in Wilkes County, to Spencer A. Wingler and Barbara Huffman Wingler. He was retired from Bell South and had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of American Legion Post 8 and VFW Post 3074. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Warlick Wingler.
Surviving are sons, Keith Wingler and wife Jane, Don Wingler and wife Jennifer, all of Lexington, and Brian Wingler and wife Rebecca of Apex; daughter, Paula Wingler Sink and husband Steven of Lexington; nine grandchildren, Andrew Little, Hannah Wingler, Laura Wingler, David Wingler, Alison Wingler, Nathan Wingler, Kaeli Sink, Evan Sink, and Colson Sink; and sisters, Rosa Lee Earwood and Betty Sue Pittman, both of Lexington.
