Cletus Carroll Cranford

Cletus Carroll Cranford, age 83, of Happy Hill Court, Lexington passed away Thursday evening, April 19, 2012 at his home, after an illness of one month. Graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, April 23, 2012 at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Byron Barker officiating. Burial will follow with military honors. The family will received friends at the home following the service on Monday. Cletus was born in Randolph County, August 27, 1928, to Arch and Lula Gibson Cranford. He was a retired truck driver with Vita Foam. He served his country in the US Marines and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Martha Janice Cranford; sisters, Amy Brady, Mamie Poole, Clara Brady, Bernice Temple and Elva Wilkie; brothers, Elbert Brady and Paul Cranford. He is survived by his wife, Lois Buhr Cranford of the home; son, James Cranford and partner, Denise Strawn, of Huntersville; daughters, Laura Cranford and partner, Tonia Mick; Carol Wells and husband, Doug, all of Lexington; step-son, Richard Buhr and wife, Lisa, of Crystal Lake, IL; grandchildren, Greg Cranford, Amanda Cranford, Josh Buhr, Mike Buhr, Jessica Cranford, Jack Wells and Madison Cranford; five great-grandchildren; and close family friend, Allan Meres of Lexington. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice way, Lexington, NC 27292.
