Mr. Cletus Leo Hilliard, 86, of Hill Street, died Saturday, June 1 at Alston Brook of Lexington after declining health of four years.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 5 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, by the Revs Doug McGee and Bradley Testerman. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 4 at Davidson Funeral Home.
Mr. Hilliard was born June 13, 1926 in Davidson County to Arthur and Tellia Shoaf Hilliard. He retired from Sears and was of the Baptist Faith. He faithfully served his country during World War II in the US Army. His brother, Thurman Hilliard, and his sisters, Savannah Lomax and Vada Ellis, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Zelma Tysinger Hilliard of the home; his son, Roger Hilliard and wife, Patsy, of Lexington; his daughter, Linda Key and husband, Butch, of Lexington; his grandchildren, Justin Key and wife, Heidi, and Nathan Key and wife, Kim; his great grandchildren, Kobe Cooper and Elizabeth Lacey; and his special friend, Donna Bivens.
